If the Grand Theft Auto community was already buzzing with rumors of a new GTA 6 trailer this week, a slip-up by retailer Best Buy has just added fuel to the fire. The store accidentally leaked the official pre-order window for physical copies of GTA 6.
The information came to light after several content creators who are part of the brand’s affiliate program received an email with instructions for a new sales campaign.
Best Buy’s email about GTA 6 was sent to several people
The leak gained traction on the GamingLeaksAndRumours forum on Reddit after streamer FrogBoyx1Gaming showed the evidence live. In streams and screenshots (both on mobile and PC), you can clearly see an official email from Best Buy.
Currently, more people are confirming they’ve received the same email, reinforcing that it’s all credible.
The email invites partners to earn a 5% commission on a new campaign titled "GTA 6 Pre-Order (Physical Game)." The most important detail, however, is the campaign duration described in the message: May 18, 2026, to May 21, 2026.
The dates leaked by Best Buy fit eerily well with all the rumors we’ve covered in recent days:
- Trailer 3: Some rumors suggest that a new trailer (or the official pre-order announcement) will be released this Thursday, May 14.
- Pre-order Start: According to the Best Buy leak, players will be able to pre-order their physical copies starting Monday, May 18.
- Shareholders’ Meeting: The store’s affiliate campaign ends exactly on May 21, the same date as Take-Two Interactive’s highly anticipated earnings call.
