If you thought next week’s potential State of Play (April 16) would be PlayStation’s highlight of the first half of the year, a new leak has just changed the picture.
While the April event is expected to focus on third-party studios, Sony is reportedly preparing a massive livestream between late May and early June dedicated entirely to its major first-party exclusives.

The source of this information is a French user on X (formerly Twitter) known as Aiir. The interesting detail is that Aiir leaked the exact date of the April 16 event hours before NateTheHate, currently the most renowned insider.
Qual o seu protagonista favorito do GTA 6?
The main course: Wolverine and God of War

According to Aiir’s posts, the May/June event will be PlayStation’s traditional “mid-year” showcase, filling the historic E3 window and going head-to-head with Summer Game Fest.
With the focus on Sony’s own studios, the two major highlights pointed out by the insider are:
- Marvel's Wolverine: Insomniac Games' next adventure, arriving September 15, 2026.
- God of War spin-off: A new, unannounced project from Santa Monica Studio, reportedly led by Cory Barlog.
This “double event” strategy is no coincidence. We must remember that November 2026 marks the release of GTA 6, the biggest entertainment product in history. Sony wants, at all costs, to draw as many consumers as possible to its platform before that launch.

Showcasing the power of Wolverine and a new God of War serves as the ultimate draw: Sony wants to prove that the PlayStation 5 isn’t just the best place to play the new GTA, but also the home of unbeatable franchises. It’s the “perfect combo” to dominate hardware sales in the second half of the year.
