Prince of Persia Leaks Online! Even after Ubisoft decided to restart the project from scratch with the Ubisoft Montreal team, footage from the previous version (developed by the teams in Pune and Mumbai) continues to surface.
Chandra Kouns, one of the developers who worked on the original project, posted a brief clip of previously unseen gameplay showing what the game looked like before it was shelved.
What does the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake video reveal?

The clip from the first version of the game, though short, is a direct dive into nostalgia, showcasing mechanics that defined the franchise:
Qual o seu protagonista favorito do GTA 6?
- Combat and co-op: The Prince is shown fighting side-by-side with Farah inside a library, maintaining the classic dynamic of the 2003 game.
- Parkour and wall running: We see platforming sequences, jumps between walls, and, of course, the iconic wall running, which appeared to be quite faithful to the original.
- The technical issues: Although the game was supposedly “99% complete” at the time of cancellation, the video confirms what many suspected: visually, the title still had many technical flaws and lacked polish, which likely motivated Ubisoft’s drastic decision.

The canceled Prince of Persia remake is one of the industry’s most bizarre cases. Announced in 2020, the game faced heavy criticism regarding its visuals from the very first trailer. Seeing a nearly finished project scrapped to start from scratch shows just how dissatisfied executives were with the quality delivered.
