The news drought surrounding GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) is coming to an end. After months of silence, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive (the company that owns the studio), has officially confirmed that the marketing campaign is about to begin.

The announcement took place during iicon, a closed-door event for high-level executives in the gaming and entertainment industry.

The "Coming Soon" Marketing Promise for GTA 6
During a panel at the event, Zelnick was interviewed by journalist Jenny Maas of Variety magazine.
When pressed to give an exact date for when the massive GTA 6 marketing machine would finally kick into gear, the executive avoided pinning down a specific day on the calendar, but gave a response that was enough to set the internet ablaze: "soon."
Although the word is vague, coming from the company’s CEO just seven months before the supposed release (scheduled for November 2026), this indicates that billboards, TV commercials, pre-orders, and, of course, the long-awaited Trailer 3, are already on the launch pad.
The connection to May 21
Zelnick’s statement takes on colossal weight when we look at Take-Two’s corporate calendar. As we recently reported here on Portal Viciados, the company has a very important investor meeting scheduled for May 21.
Historically, Rockstar loves to drop “bombshells” online days before these financial conferences to arrive at the meeting with the company’s stock soaring and shareholders happy. Zelnick’s “coming soon” could very well be a warm-up for the coming weeks.
