With the deadline set by the ShinyHunters group fast approaching (April 14), respected members of the GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) community have revealed the inside story of the extortion scheme that promises to shake up Take-Two and Rockstar Games.
You can check out more details on this hacker attack in the video from our partner SanInPlay:
According to new information released by the GTABase profile, the hacker group set the ransom at $200,000 (about 1 million reais). The demand came with a final warning, confirming that Rockstar’s Snowflake instances were compromised via the Anodot artificial intelligence platform.

However, what really set off alarm bells in the community was the volume of data allegedly stolen. Reports indicate that the leak may be between 1.5 and 5 terabytes (TB) in size.
Is GTA 6 at risk? What’s inside 5 terabytes of data?

As GTABase itself pointed out, this volume of files is far too large to be merely “metrics data” or performance reports, as Rockstar had initially downplayed.
The biggest concern right now is employee privacy. A leak of this magnitude could include thousands of individual employment contracts, employee bank details, GTA 6 music licensing agreements, and confidential budgets.
Furthermore, given the absurd size of the files, there is a chance the leak includes technical details related to Grand Theft Auto VI, which would be catastrophic for Rockstar Games.

The gravity of the situation was confirmed by VideoTech, another well-known insider in the community.
He confirmed he has already seen "evidence" of the hack and the ultimatum circulating behind the scenes. "Deeply concerning if true. Clearly they (Rockstar) didn’t pay," the insider commented on his X account (formerly Twitter).
In short, if ShinyHunters really do have 5TB of sensitive data and follow through on their threat, the internal damage to the morale of the GTA 6 team could be severe.
