The alleged GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) gameplay video released by Kotaku that circulated in early March, showing a truck crossing a bridge in Vice City, has been officially debunked.
You can check out more details on this content in the video from our partner SanInPlay:
The mastermind behind this feat is the content creator known as tenshi, who published a video detailing the entire process of creating the GTA 6 hoax. According to him, the goal was to stir up the community during the current "drought" of official information from Rockstar Games.

How was the GTA 6 hoax built?

To make the clip look authentic, Tenshi didn’t just use simple tools. He rebuilt the bridge from scratch using the Unity engine, basing it on frames from Trailer 2 to ensure fans would recognize the location.

Check out the tricks used to give it the look of a "development build":
- GTA 5 assets: The creator used a truck from GTA 5 but applied a custom "Pißwasser" paint job to simulate the reuse of models that Rockstar often does in early testing phases.
- Fake debug tools: Frame counters, memory usage statistics, and geographic coordinates were inserted that intentionally matched the "Community Mapping Project" (GTA 6 mapping project).
- Intentionally Low Quality: The video was exported in low resolution to hide imperfections in the models and textures, a common technique in real leaks to hinder immediate technical analysis.
- Red Dead 2 Post-Processing: With the help of contributor GTA Infinity, the author applied lighting filters that mimic the visual aesthetic of Red Dead Redemption 2, bringing the final result closer to what is expected from the RAGE 9 engine.
The video, originally posted on a disposable Instagram account on March 1, was picked up by major international media outlets, such as Kotaku, and sparked debates among insiders and GTA 6 fans.

In short, the "confession" came only after community experts, such as the GameRoll profile, began pointing out inconsistencies in the bridge’s geometry and the font used in the developer menus.
