The Witcher 4 | CD Projekt RED's title is still a few years away from release

The Witcher 4 was officially announced during the TGA 2024was one of the biggest announcements of the event, but the CD Projekt RED has not revealed its release date, but according to recent information, it shouldn't be any time soon.

The Witcher 4 should not arrive in 2026

Even though everyone is looking forward to it, the new title from CDPR, The Witcher 4 is unlikely to be released any time soon, and is only expected to arrive after 2026, if the developer's plans go according to plan.

In a recent earnings presentation for the last fiscal year, as pointed out by the magazine PCGamer, Piotr Nielubowicz, the company's chief financial officer, was asked about the launch of The Witcher 4. He replied that the plans do not include a launch as early as 2026, but rather something for after that period, i.e. not until 2027.

We are not yet announcing the exact release date for the game. What we can share at the moment, to give investors more clarity, is that the game will not be released within the timeframe of the first goal of the incentive program, which ends on December 31, 2026.

According to the company, The Witcher 4 entered full production in November 2024, and the co-CEO, Michał NowakowskiIn a statement a few days later, he warned that the studio would adopt a more cautious and strategic approach to announcing new games.

However, that didn't stop the company from surprising everyone by releasing an unexpected new trailer a few weeks later during the The Game Of The Year Awards.

In short, even if The Witcher 4 is in development, its release shouldn't take place before 2027, and it may already arrive for the next generation of consoles, being a generation transition game.
