The gaming universe has just received some news that promises to stir things up: POSTAL 2 Redux has been officially announced! The controversial first-person shooter from 2003 is getting a complete remake, developed in partnership between Flat2VR Studios, Team Beef and Running With Scissors.

A complete renovation from scratch

Unlike simple remasters, the POSTAL 2 Redux represents a "complete overhaul from scratch" of the original title. The project was born out of an initial attempt to bring POSTAL 2 for virtual reality, but the complexity of the work led the developers to opt for a more ambitious approach.

The aim is to create "the best version of POSTAL 2 ever", with improved graphics, new weapons, more realistic physics and lots of hidden surprises. And yes, fans can rest assured: it will still be possible to complete the crazy tasks using a shovel, if you like.

Eric Masher, COO of Flat2VR Studios, commented that taking POSTAL 2 Redux for new platforms is a milestone for the studio. Among the planned devices are PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Mac and Linuxdepending on the success of the campaign and agreements with digital stores.

This wide availability demonstrates the developers' intention to bring the chaos of Paradise to as many players as possible.

Unity Engine and Technical Improvements

Developed in Unity EngineThe game promises to work on "all types of screens", guaranteeing a consistent experience whether on desktop or laptop. The technical upgrade aims to solve the compatibility problems that affected the original title on newer hardware.

Kickstarter campaign in 2025

Here comes the catch: the POSTAL 2 Redux is not yet in full production, with a campaign in the Kickstarter planned for the summer of 2025. The pre-launch page has already been live since June 12, 2025, allowing interested parties to follow the development.
