MindsEye flopped? The number of users on Steam is ridiculous!

MindsEye, the long-awaited title from Build A Rocket Boy, a studio founded by former developers of GTA, has arrived with everything... or rather, with almost nothing! After so much anticipation, the game debuted on Steam with an extremely poor performance, both in technical performance and in sales.

Despite the marketing campaign and the curiosity surrounding the "Game from the creators of GTA", the severe technical problems and the negative reception of the first players undermined any chance of a solid launch.

In the first 8 hours after the premiere, MindsEye reached a peak of just 3,302 simultaneous players on the ValveThis number is considered extremely low for a release of this magnitude. At the time of publication of this article, the game has only 1,495 active users.

In addition to the disappointing number of players, the evaluations in the Steam are very negative. Of the almost 700 reviews published so far, more than 43% are negativewith the majority remaining neutral and very few positive.

This negative feedback, coupled with the silence of the specialized media (the game still has no official review on Metacritic), casts doubt on the future of MindsEye. Even with the hope of an improvement in numbers over the weekend, the release can already be considered one of the most disappointing of 2025 so far.

With versions also available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|XThe question now is whether the studio will be able to respond to the criticism with quick fixes and promises kept.
